The Houston Texans drafted Miller with the 22nd pick in the third round. He was the ninth Ohio State player drafted in the first three rounds.

Miller was the ninth-ranked wide receiver in the draft, according to ESPN’s Mel Kiper. Four were drafted in the first round Thursday.
In the first round Thursday, five Buckeyes heard their name called. Ohio State fell one short of the first-round record. Defensive end Joey Bosa went to the San Diego Chargers at No. 3 and was followed by running back Ezekiel Elliott to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 4, cornerback Eli Apple to the New York Giants at No. 10, left tackle Taylor Decker to the Detroit Lions at No. 16 and linebacker Darron Lee to the New York Jets at No. 20.
The first Buckeye drafted in the second round was wide receiver Michael Thomas, who the New Orleans Saints selected with the 16th pick.
Even though he missed the 2014 national championship season with a shoulder injury, Miller left Columbus as one of the all-time great Buckeyes. He was responsible for 88 touchdowns rushing, passing and receiving, more than any other player in school history. He gained 8,609 yards of total offense, second in school history.
Miller twice won the Chicago Tribune Silver Football Award as the best player in the Big Ten. He never played quarterback again after suffering a shoulder injury in the last game of the 2013 season, a loss in the Sugar Bowl to Clemson, but turned himself into a hybrid back in 2015 so Ohio State wouldn’t have a three-man quarterback derby.
Miller, 23, grew up in Springfield but went to Wayne High School. He led the Warriors to a runner-up finish in the state playoffs as a senior.
