Carter, who starred at Middletown and Ohio State before playing 16 seasons in the NFL, was the co-host of a morning show on Fox Sports 1 since May 2017.

Front Office Sports reported Monday that Carter had taken a "leave of absence" from the show since late last week and that it could be a precursor to his leaving the network.
One high-placed source told Front Office Sports that Carter is miffed at not being included in Fox's Thursday Night Football pregame coverage this season.
Carter was an analyst for HBO’s “Inside The NFL” and ESPN prior to joining Fox Sports.
He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013 after finishing his career with the second-most receptions (1,101) and touchdown catches (130) in NFL history.
The Troy native, who played for the Eagles, Vikings and Dolphins, had 13,899 career receiving yards, a total that is good for 13th in league history at this point.
