Former Dayton assistant coach earns promotion at Davidson

Kevin Kuwik entering second season on Bob McKillop’s staff

Kuwik served as director of basketball operations last season on Bob McKillop’s staff. He will now be an assistant coach, the same position he held on Archie Miller’s staff for six seasons. Davidson announced the staff news Thursday. As an assistant coach, Kuwik will have a bigger role that includes recruiting on the road.

"Kevin was a superb addition to our staff,” McKillop said in a press release. “I'm absolutely certain that he will be an outstanding head coach in the very near future."

Davidson finished 21-12 last season and won the Atlantic 10 tournament for the first time. It was one of three A-10 teams to play in the NCAA tournament. Kuwik coached in the big dance for the fifth straight year. The Flyers made it in his last four seasons at Dayton.

"Being a part of this special program has been a tremendous experience, in particular getting to know and work with coach McKillop and our staff, the players, and the entire Davidson community," Kuwik said in a press release. "My family and I are so appreciative of Coach for this opportunity, and I am looking forward to the challenge of the upcoming 2018-19 season."
