The Rangers wanted Hauschild as a long reliever, but despite a solid 92 MPH fastball, he gave up 10 runs in eight innings, including five home runs.
Hauschild was picked up by Texas in the Rule 5 draft in December after he had a successful year in Houston Triple-A affiliate Fresno last year, going 3.22 ERA and 7.7 strikeouts per nine innings.
