Greaser, Goecke, Centerville boys go low at D-I boys golf sectional

Seniors Austin Greaser (Butler) and Tyler Goecke (Carroll) and the Centerville team went low Monday in the Division I boys sectional golf tournament.

Greaser and Goecke both carded 6-under-par 66 and the Elks carded a 1-under 287 at the Golf Club at Yankee Trace.

Centerville won the team title by 27 shots over runner-up Butler (314). The top four teams and top four individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to next week’s district tournament.

The Elks were led by A.J. Cherubini, Eric Cherubini and Nick Clark, all of whom carded 1-under 71. Will Owen added a 74.

Springboro (315) and Lebanon (318) also advanced to next week’s district tournament.

Goecke and teammate Shane Ochs (76), Fairmont’s Cameron Cumberland (80) and Northmont’s Alec Avdakov (81) were the individual qualifiers.
