Today’s high school ruling: Is your football team in a different division?

The following are the assigned divisions for high school football teams for the 2017-18 seasons. Regions will be announced June 6. Notable:

• 22 teams bumped up one division due to the new Competitive Balance factor.

• 53 teams bumped up one division due to enrollment numbers (EMIS) or a combination of Competitive Balance.

• 17 teams bumped up one division because of EMIS, but moved down because of Competitive Balance and remained the same.

• 16 teams moved down one division because of Competitive Balance.

• 57 teams moved down one division due to enrollment numbers.

• 11 teams moved down because of enrollment, but moved up because of Competitive Balance and remained the same.

DIVISION I

Area teams moving up from D-II: Miamisburg. Others: Cin. Walnut Hills, Cin. Princeton, Groveport-Madison, Delaware Hayes, Massillon Perry.

Moving down to D-II: Westerville South, North Canton Hoover, North Royalton, Cuyahoga Falls, Lakewood, Parma.

Note: All other teams that were D-I the last two seasons also will be D-I for 2017-18.

DIVISION II

Moving down from D-I: Westerville South, North Canton Hoover, North Royalton, Cuyahoga Falls, Lakewood, Parma.

Area teams moving up from D-III: Belmont, Carroll, Talawanda. Others: Col. Whetstone, Akron Hoban, Columbian Tiffin, Ashland, Mount Orab Western Brown, Mentor Lake Catholic, Cle. Benedictine, Chillicothe, Cle. John Hay, Whitehall-Yearling.

Note: All other teams that were D-II the last two seasons also will be D-II for 2017-18.

DIVISION III

Area teams moving down from D-II: Vandalia-Butler, West Carrollton. Others: Dresden Tri-Valley, Maple Heights, Akron North, Chagrin Falls Kenston, Cle. Glenville, Aurora, Chardon, Cle. Lincoln West, Akron Garfield, Mansfield Senior, Cle. John F. Kennedy.
