High School girls basketball: Head coaching changes for 2019

The following are area girls high school basketball head coaching openings and changes for the 2019-20 season.

Brookville, Division III, SWBL Southwestern: Braden Kindell resigned after three seasons. Blue Devils were 3-19 (0-12 SWBL Southwestern) last season. Brookville hasn't had a winning record since the 2012-13 season and has lost 38 consecutive SWBL games over four seasons, last winning a league game in January of 2016.

Covington, D-IV, CCC: Jim Meyer resigned after three seasons following a second term as the Buccs' head coach. Covington won at least 20 games each of those three seasons, including two sectional and one district titles. He had a 202-72 career record and also was Troy's girls coach.

Fort Recovery, D-IV, MAC: Brian Patch resigned after five seasons, citing family reasons. The Indians were 12-12 last season and won 19 games each of the previous three seasons. Patch was 86-34 overall and 27-18 in the MAC. Patch also was Fort Recovery's boys basketball coach from 2003-14.

Middletown, D-I, GMC: Kevin Aldridge resigned after four seasons to be an assistant at Hamilton. His record at Middletown was 31-61 overall, 16-48 in the GMC and 0-4 in the postseason. The Middies were 13-10 in his first season in 2015-16, the program's only winning record since 1987-88.

Monroe, D-II, SWBL Southwestern: Chad Allen resigned after five seasons, citing family reasons. The Hornets were 13-9 last season, 50-21 over the last three seasons and a combined 68-49 under Allen.

Newton, D-IV, CCC: Steve Fisher resigned after three seasons. Indians were 10-13.

Northeastern, D-III, OHC: Beth Marks resigned after two seasons.

Sidney, D-I, GWOC American North: Jamal Foster succeeds Lauren Stefancin, who resigned after two seasons. A mentor native, Stefancin was 22 years old and a soon-to-be Capital University grad – where she played for one season – when hired to succeed Megan Mummey. The Yellow Jackets were 2-21 and followed with an 0-23 team this past season.

St. Henry, D-IV, MAC: Wendi Moorman resigned after two winning seasons of 12-9 and 13-10 with the Redskins.

Tecumseh, D-I, CBC Kenton Trail: Danielle Thomas was not retained after 12 seasons. The Arrows were 17-8 in her final season and won their fourth straight CBC Kenton Trail title. Thomas was 184-99 overall and won five league titles in the past seven years. The Arrows won 23 games in 2012-13 and 22 in 2015-16 and 2016-17.

Xenia, D-I, GWOC American South: Jessica Threats, also the Bucs' girls volleyball coach, succeeds Jamie Hand. Xenia was 1-22 last season and hasn't had a winning team since 2009-10.
