The win has the Beavers off to a school-record 4-0 start.
“You keep it simple,” first-year Beavercreek coach Kevin McClure said.
“Like I tell my guys, you have to do two things: You can’t turn the puck over and you have to stay disciplined. I thought both teams did that.”
Centerville’s Joe Breslin and Beavercreek’s Matt Green both scored in the third period at the Kettering Recreation Complex.
In the three-man shootout, Beavercreek’s Pavi Kullar scored first and ’Creek keeper Kyle McClure turned away the Elks’ first two shooters. Mike Mazza then sealed the Beavers’ win with the 2-1 shootout advantage.
Overall, McClure stopped 24 of 25 shots and Centerville goalie Adam Korchinski saved 25 of 26. McClure saved 94 of 100 shots in the tournament.
“My goaltender and brother, I put all this tournament on his shoulders. I was proud of him. He carried his weight,” coach McClure said.
“I wasn’t real nervous. We go practice the shootouts every week and the guys go against two good goaltenders. We have two very good senior goaltenders. ... I thought my guys were going to come up clutch and they did.”
Green led Beavercreek with three goals and five assists, Mazza netted five unassisted goals and Kullar had two goals and two assists.
Beavercreek also beat Troy (2-1), Maumee (3-1) and North Canton Hoover (5-3) to reach the final.
Springboro finished third and was followed by Hoover, Troy and Maumee.
