Preble Shawnee pitcher now 10-0

Senior pitcher Hannah Belvo struck out 12 and improved to 10-0 as Preble Shawnee blanked Waynesville 3-0 Friday in a high school softball game.

The shutout was Belvo’s sixth of the season and the dozen strikeouts upped her total to 105 on the year.

Abby Lynch went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Katie Woodard doubled for Preble Shawnee (11-0).

Lebanon 14, Sidney 3: Kaitlyn Bergman hit her seventh home run, and Savannah Scott pounded her first career dinger for the undefeated Warriors (12-0). Pitcher Kenzie Morgan picked up the win to improve to 4-0, and Tara Trainer struck out the side to end the game in the fifth after coming on in relief.

Springfield 6, Springboro 4: Heather Kot was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored and pitcher Brooke Meinert tripled, but three runs in the final three innings sank Springboro (5-4).

Valley View 12, Monroe 4: Teddi Collins homered and Elizabeth Tegtmayer was 3-for-5 with a double for Valley View. Pitcher Savannah Speessen picked up the win.

Baseball

Springboro 14, Springfield 2: Pitcher Rex Leuthke improved to 2-0 with his complete game. 'Boro (11-1) was led by Jack Schaff, who had a double with four RBIs. Springboro run-ruled Springfield after five innings.

Valley View 6, Monroe 4: The Spartans took a two-run lead in the fourth and then held off a rally by Monroe. Pitcher Chris Allen picked up the win and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs at the plate. Chris Lykins also went 3-for-4 for Valley View.
