Another former Flyer, guard Charles Cooke, will play for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA Summer League at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. His first game is July 8.

Smith and Cooke signed as undrafted free agents after Thursday’s NBA Draft. No player recruited by Archie Miller during his six seasons at Dayton has played in the NBA. Chris Johnson, who was a senior in Miller’s first season (2011-12), is the last Flyer to debut in the NBA. He appeared in 147 games between 2013-2016.

Davidson’s Jack Gibbs will join Cooke with Minnesota as will Notre Dame’s V.J. Beachem, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., who was a close friend of late Dayton Flyer Steve McElvene.
