Hunter in Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame

Former Wittenberg University men’s basketball coach Larry Hunter was inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame this past weekend at Columbus.

Currently the head coach at Western Carolina since 2005, Hunter was Witt’s head coach from 1976-89 and won an NCAA D-III national championship in his first season. Hunter was 305-76 at Witt, which included five Great Lakes regional championships, four Final Four appearances and a D-II national runner-up in 1983.

He also was the head coach at Ohio University from 1989-2005. He’s the ninth active all-time winningest coach in NCAA history with 670-plus wins.
