St. Joseph’s announced Tuesday starters James Demery and Chris Clover did not make the trip to Dayton because of an illness and won’t play against the Flyers on Tuesday night.

Demery, a 6-foot-6 junior forward, averages 13.6 points and 6.8 rebounds. Clover, a 6-3 sophomore guard, averages 5.9 points and 1.8 rebounds.

The Hawks (10-12, 3-7) were already short-handed because they lost their leading scorer, Shavar Newkirk, to a season-ending knee injury on Dec. 30.
