What if Ken Griffey Jr. had pursued a football career instead of baseball?
He might be less popular in the state of Ohio.
The recently inducted Baseball Hall of Famer told Dan Patrick he had more scholarship offers to play football than baseball when he was a high school star at Cincinnati Moeller.
Doesn’t sound like he would have been a Buckeye, though.
Instead he might have followed fellow Moeller grad Barry Larkin to Michigan.
Of course, this was probably not much of a decision since Griffey was the No. 1 pick in the MLB draft in 1987.
Meanwhile, Griffey’s little brother, Craig, did end up in Columbus — as a Buckeye football player.
