The event included lawn games, live music and an opportunity to meet Cubs players and first responders. Last year’s event raised about $280,000 as well.

Schwarber started the Neighborhood Heroes campaign in 2017 to “recognize first responders and honor their heroism, courage and devotion to duty,” according to MLB.com.
Schwarber is no stranger to public safety.
His father, Greg, served as Middletown’s police chief and his mother, Donna, was a nurse and former police dispatcher. His sister, Lindsey, is a Middletown police officer.
Schwarber, 25, is hitting .238 with 24 home runs and 54 RBIs for the first-place Cubs.
