MERCY HEALTHPLEX OFFERS BASKETBALL CLINICS: A new monthly program for both members and non-members of Mercy Healthplex Fairfield will be basketball clinics, starting Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, for ages 7-12. BADIN INDUCTING 2009 HALL CLASS: The 2009 Badin-Hamilton Catholic-Notre Dame Hall of Fame class will be inducted Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Pfirman Family Activity Center. BASKETBALL OFFICIATING CLASSES HAVE STARTED: Basketball officiating classes will be held every Sunday at 6 p.m. for five more weeks at Hampton Bennett School in Franklin. The dates are Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 23. Anyone interested, male and female, must be at least 14 years old and a freshman in high school to be eligible to become a licensed referee. MONROE HOSTING ‘IT’S ALL ABOUT CHARACTER’ NIGHT OCT. 27: The Monroe Athletic Department will be presenting “It’s All About Character” night at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the high school gymnasium. Kim Nuxhall, founder of the Joe Nuxhall Character Foundation and son of the ’ol left-hander, former Bengal Jim Breech and Dr. Mike Thomson will present a fun-filled evening stressing character, ethics, integrity and other valuable attributes of character building. Those in attendance will learn how great coaches (teachers) motivate their teams, the difference between winning and success, how committing good character will guarantee success in life and strategies for implementing sportsmanship, ethics and integrity into your coaching, teaching, parenting among other things.
