Channell talked about the change this week as his team was participating in a 7-on-7 competition at Welcome Stadium.
“I’ve always told people it’s relevant, but it’s not,” Channell said. “You’d better worry about your ten games during the regular season and then you can worry about postseason if you make it because 75 percent of the schools don’t get there.”
The Vikings have some big holes to fill…literally. Linemen Josh Myers and Cody Lamb are at Ohio State and Cincinnati, respectively.
“We’ve got to fill some spots up front on both sides of the ball,” Channell said. “It’s a work in progress at this point.”
The Vikings return quarterback Tate Vongsy, who threw 12 touchdown passes last season and ran for nine more. The bulk of the carries should go to Tony Clark. The senior found the end zone 22 times in 2016 and will once again play both ways for the Burg.
