Middletown’s Kayla Harrison returning to ring for second MMA fight

Middletown’s Kayla Harrison isn’t waiting long to return to the MMA ring.

Harrison, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo, will compete in her second bout on Aug. 16, when she takes on Jozette Cotton (8-1) in a lightweight matchup at Professional Fighters League (PFL) 6.

The fight was first reported on ESPN.com and then confirmed by a PFL official.

Harrison will fight at Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. The MMA fight airs on NBCSN following prelims streamed on Facebook.

Harrison, 28, made her MMA debut in June when she beat Brittney Elkin in just over three minutes into the first round.
