Wright State junior right fielder Peyton Burdick was selected today by the Miami Marlins in the third round of the Major League Baseball Draft.
The 82nd overall pick Burdick, was named the Horizon League Player of the Year after hitting .407 with 15 home runs and 72 RBIs in 59 games.
Burdick, a native of Batavia, Ohio, was tabbed last week as a second-team All American by Collegiate Baseball. He led the Raiders to the Horizon League regular season title this season.
