The group will include a dozen guys who played for the Cincinnati Bearcats last season. Six of those are wide receivers, including Chris Moore, who has already had visits with a handful of NFL teams. CBS sports has Moore listed as the 25th best receiver in the 2016 class.
Another interesting former Bearcat to watch is Shaq Washington, who set UC’s career receptions record last season. Washington averaged seven catches per game in 2015 which was ninth best in the country, but he’s only 5-foot-9, 179 pounds, which could be an issue at the next level.
The group also includes Middletown native Jalin Marshall, who left Ohio State a year early to play for pay. The former Middies quarterback found a home as a slot receiver and punt returner for the Buckeyes. Like Washington, size could be an issue for the 5-10, 205-pound receiver who is projected as a fourth- or fifth-round pick.
Defensive tackle Adolphus Washington is one of two other former Ohio State players to join the workout. The former Cincinnati Taft earned second-team all-Bit Ten honors. He had 13.5 sacks in his four seasons with the Buckeyes. Washington is projected as a third- or fourth-round pick in the draft.
The majority of the group will likely not be drafted, but hope to earn a spot on a roster as a free agent.
