ESPN’s Adam Schefter sent an abbreviated tweet that read, “Multiple teams have reached out to the Browns to inquire about the availability, per league…”
Those who then clicked through to Schefter’s Facebook post (we know you didn’t, and we don’t blame you) then learned the Browns are not actually trying to trade Gordon, so this was really a nonstory.
That much was confirmed by others who cover the team.
Of course other teams being interested in acquiring a talent like Gordon barely qualifies as news, if at all.
If the Patriots wanted someone to take Tom Brady off their hands, they probably wouldn’t have much trouble, and you can imagine there would be a long line looking to bring on Le’Veon Bell if the Steelers decided they weren’t interested in waiting out his season-opening three-game suspension.
We could go on, but you get the point.
So take a deep breath, Orange and Brown faithful, and go back to enjoying the best time of the year to be a Browns fan.
