Northmont safety from 2021 class commits to Michigan

Rod Moore joins teammate in Wolverines’ recruiting class

Northmont HIgh School safety Rod Moore verbally committed to the Michigan Wolverines on Sunday, posting a video on Twitter to announce his decision.

In the video, Moore said, “Without God, I am nothing. He is the reason I’m here today regardless of any trials and tribulations I’ve been through during my life. He has allowed me to be in this position, and I thank him for the great talents he has blessed me with. Along with thanking him, I would like to thank my mother and my father. Without them, I wouldn’t be the young man and athlete I am today.”

Moore is a member of the class of 2021. He's the second Northmont recruit from that class to commit to the Wolverines this spring, following wide receiver Markus Allen.

Moore is a three-star recruit who ranks 12th in the Ohio class of 2021, according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He had 53 tackles and four interceptions last season as a junior.

Allen Trieu, of 247Sports, called Moore a "true playmaker who has very good ball skills and the anticipation to put himself in position to use those ball skills. He will also get involved as a tackler. He takes good angles in pursuit and does a good job of not getting too high as a tackler."
