Former Red Bronson Arroyo on Monday signed a minor-league contract with his old team.
Arroyo, 39, hasn’t pitched in two years. The right-hander appeared in 14 games for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2014. He had a 7-4 record with a 4.08 ERA.
“He looked good in the bullpen I watched,” Reds manager Bryan Price said. “He is a candidate for anything. We have to see that he’s healthy. He will write his own story.”
Arroyo, a 15-year major league veteran, spent eight seasons in Cincinnati. He was 105-94 with a 4.05 ERA and started 265 games.
