Maxwell Moldovan is set to represent Ohio State at the U.S. Open this week in Los Angeles.

The Buckeye senior learned Sunday night his performance at the sectional qualifier at the Springfield Country Club was enough to get him in as the third alternate.

He shot a 65 and a 68 last Monday before losing in a playoff.

Moldovan also made the U.S. Open last year at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., and shot 75-72 before missing the cut.

Moldovan had 10 top 10 finishes in 13 events this year for Ohio State and set the program single-season scoring average for the third consecutive year at 70.64.
