Dayton native Jeff Upshaw is among Americans hoping to compete in BMX in the Rio Olympics, but he might not get a chance.

A spokesperson for Upshaw’s sponsor, Kuwahara USA, told the Dayton Daily News that Upshaw is the first alternate for the U.S. team with competition for seeding set to take place Wednesday.

The three Americans currently slated for compete for Team USA are Connor Fields, Nicholas Long and Corben Sharrah.
