Pickerington Central forward commits to Shauna Green’s Flyers

Whitehead is third freshman in 2018 recruiting class

The Dayton Flyers women’s basketball program received a verbal commitment Tuesday night from Kyla Whitehead, a senior at Pickerington Central.

Whitehead, a 6-foot-2 forward, narrowed her choices to Dayton, DePaul, Memphis and Western Kentucky on Sept. 4.

Whitehead attended high school in Huntsville, Ala., before moving to Pickerington before her junior year.

This is Dayton’s third 2018 commitment. Ella Skeens, a 5-foot-11 wing from Chillicothe Southeastern High School, announced her decision in June. Amari Davidson, a 6-2 post from Avon High School, announced her verbal commitment in August. She’s a three-star recruit, according to ESPN.
