Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, based on the NBA rookie pay scale, Kennard, the No. 12 pick in the draft, will make $2.2 million this season, then $2.7 million and $3.1 million in the following seasons.
Van Gundy not worried about Kennard’s defense
Kennard made his NBA Summer League debut with the Pistons on Saturday in Orlando against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He scored 16 points. The Pistons lost 92-91.
The Pistons play the Knicks at 1 p.m. Sunday, the Heat at 5 p.m. Tuesday and the Hornets at 3 p.m. Wednesday. All games are televised on NBA TV.
