Division III boys state final

Versailles (23-5) vs. Ottawa-Glandorf (25-3), 10:30 a.m., today

Notable: Versailles turned up the defensive heat in the second half to overtake Leavittsburg Labrae 64-52 in its Thursday semifinal. Trailing 37-33 at halftime, the Tigers allowed 15 second-half points to win their eighth straight. It’s just the second time Versailles has been to a final four and both times the Tigers advanced to the final. The Tigers lost to MAC rival St. Henry in the 2004 D-III title game. Damien Richard and Kyle Ahrens each went for 21 points in the semi.

Glandorf dodged Ironton 61-60 in OT in its semi. TJ Metzger, a 6-1 senior guard, had 25 points but hit just 7 of 14 free throws in the one-point win. The Titans are located in Putnam County and have ruled the Western Buckeye League of late. This is O-G’s seventh trip to the final four.
