Bengals-Patriots key players

Key ring

Brandon Ghee, Cincinnati CB

If starter Leon Hall is unable to play for a second consecutive week with a hamstring injury, Ghee will be responsible for covering one of the top slot receivers in the league in Julian Edelman.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Cincinnati RB

As much as the former Patriot tries to say it is just another game, there has to be a little extra juice going against his former team, and the Bengals certainly could use any added boost they can get in their struggling running game.

Mohamed Sanu, Cincinnati WR

After scoring four touchdowns in the three games before suffering a season-ending injury last year, Sanu has yet to find the end zone in 2013. The Bengals need him to step up and become a solid No. 2 receiver to help loosen the chains on A.J. Green.

Sebastian Vollmer, New England RT

The fifth-year veteran will be responsible for stopping Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap, who is off to his best start as a pro with a team-high three sacks, three passes defended and 16 tackles.

Tommy Kelly, New England DT

The primary run-stopping duties will fall to Kelly with perennial Pro Bowler Vince Wilfork out with an Achilles injury. The last time Kelly played in Cincinnati was last year with Oakland when he was one of three players ejected following a fourth-quarter fight.

Rob Gronkowski, New England TE

He has not played since re-injuring his forearm in the playoff win against Houston last year, but rusty or not, Gronkowski is a difference maker. The mere threat of him being activated forced Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer to install two separate packages this week.
