Bengals-Titans game will be on local TV

The Cincinnati Bengals announced today they have sold enough tickets for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans to be televised locally on WHIO-TV in Dayton and Channel 12 in Cincinnati.

Last week’s win against Atlanta snapped the Bengals’ streak of 11 consecutive sellouts, however the game still aired on local television due to the franchise’s decision this season to opt into the league’s 85 percent plan, where a team only needs to sell 85 percent of non-premium tickets to avoid the blackout.

The last home game that was not televised locally was Nov. 25, 2012, when former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer made his return to Cincinnati as a member of the Oakland Raiders.

Today’s announcement means the team has reached the 85 percent threshold, but tickets still remain.
