A.J. Green inactive for Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green is inactive for today’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Green re-aggravated his toe injury early in practice Wednesday and was listed as questionable on the team’s injury report. Brandon Tate will start in his place.

This will be just the second game Green has missed in his four seasons. A hyperextended knee he suffered in Week 11 of his rookie season in 2011 forced him to sit out a 34-27 loss at Baltimore.

Also inactive for the Bengals today are wide receiver Marvin Jones, guard Kevin Zeitler, defensive end Will Clarke, defensive tackle Brandon Thompson, cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris and linebacker Khairi Fortt.

For the Carolina Panthers, the top two running backs on their depth chart, DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, are inactive, along with center Andrew Norwell, quarterback Joe Webb, linebacker D.J. Smith, cornerbacks Bene Benwikere and Josh Norman.
