If it happens, it won’t be the first switch Decker will deal with in going from college to the NFL.
Listed at 6-foot-8 at OSU, Decker officially measured 6-7 and 310 pounds here.
“The last time I was measured at Ohio State, I was 6-7 and sixth-tenths, so I don’t know what happened,” he said.
“We’ve been on our feet a lot, walking around. Maybe I compressed my spine,” he joked.
Decker said he knows more changes await.
“I think the biggest challenge is going to be, though I did play against some really good players in college, I’m going to see the best players I’m ever going to see every single week,” he said. “There’s no room for error. As an offensive lineman, a couple of bad plays means a bad game.”
To help prepare him for the NFL and the meat-grinder that is draft prep, Decker has enlisted the services of former Ohio State and NFL center LeCharles Bentley.
“It’s been awesome,” Decker said. “Going into this process, he was the No. 1 guy I wanted to work with. It’s cool to have that Ohio State connection. We wore the same number (68). We both were Big Ten lineman of the year. To have somebody like that want to help me achieve my goals has been amazing.”
