Puig: It was ‘an honor and a pleasure’ to play for Reds

News of the three-team, seven-player trade broke Tuesday night just before a brawl between the Reds and Pirates started at Great American Ball Park. It would be Puig's last act as a Red. He was ejected.

The Reds acquired Indians starting pitcher Trevor Bauer, 28, from the Indians. The Padres received one of the Reds' top prospects, outfielder Taylor Trammell, who has represented the Reds in the Futures Game the last two years.

Trammell thanked the Padres for the opportunity on Twitter and wrote, “I can’t wait to start this journey with you guys! Fun fact...... I’ve never been to California.”

In addition to Puig, the Indians acquired Reds pitching prospect Scott Moss, who was 6-5 with a 3.44 ERA in 20 starts with Double-Chattanooga, and two players from the Padres, Franmil Reyes and Logan Allen.
