AP ranks Dayton Flyers among top 100 programs of all time

The Associated Press ranked the top 100 men’s basketball programs of all time, based on appearances in the top 25 poll.

The Dayton Flyers ranked 76th with 98 points. Teams received one point for each week they have been ranked or two points for being ranked No. 1.

Kentucky was No. 1. The Wildcats have appeared in 75.4 percent of all polls and been ranked No. 1 124 times. Rounding out the top 10 were North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, Kansas, Indiana, Louisville, Arizona, Syracuse and Cincinnati. The Bearcats made the top 10 despite not appearing in a single poll throughout the 1980s. They are the top-ranked team outside the power five conferences.

Ohio State was 12th. Xavier was 53rd. Massachusetts ranked 68th. Other A-10 teams in the top 100 were: No. 69 La Salle; No. 78 Duquesne; No. 83 St. Bonaventure; No. 88 George Washington; and No. 89 Davidson.
