Archer, 28, appeared in 10 games for Triple-A San Antonio this season. He was 0-1 with a 4.32 ERA. He made one start and nine relief appearances.
Archer was a 21st-round pick in 2013. If he makes it to the Reds, it will be his first time in the big leagues.
