Reds CEO Bob Castellini: “I hope Billy Hamilton is with us forever”

An offseason that began with reports the Cincinnati Reds were willing to at least discuss trading Billy Hamilton unofficially concluded with his biggest boss singing his praises.

Team CEO Bob Castellini told a group of fans on the Reds caravan last weekend he sees the 26-year-old center fielder as a potential Hall of Famer.

“He’s got a great attitude. Upbeat. He’s a talent,” Castellini said. “He’s got to get the bunt down a little bit better and maybe improve on his hitting, but you can’t ask for a better teammate than Billy Hamilton.

“He’s got talent, and when he gets up there and he’s on base and nobody’s out, that pitcher… he’s worried. And that’s what you want.”
