Reds spin the turnstile with roster moves; Sal Romano called up to start tonight

The Reds might wish they could go back in time, like to before the All-Star break when they won eight of 13 games, but reality will not allow that so they made a rash of roster moves Tuesday in attempt to staunch severe bleeding.

Sal Romano has been called up from AAA Louisville, and will start tonight's game against the Diamondbacks, who are not so fresh after dropping all three games in Atlanta. In two previous starts for the Reds, Romano went 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA.

He’s taking the roster spot of Scott Feldman, whom Cincinnati put on the 10-day disabled list (knee inflammation) after lasting just one inning in Monday’s 6-1 loss to the Nationals.

In other moves, outfielder Jesse Winker was optioned to Louisville and right-handed pitcher Lisalverto Bonilla was called up to help a bullpen that has been stretched out in four games since the break, all losses to Washington.
