Report: Bengals cut former Buckeye

Offensive lineman Michael Jordan was fourth-round pick in 2019 draft

The Cincinnati Bengals have waived guard Michael Jordan, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jordan, a 2019 fourth-round pick during coach Zac Taylor’s first draft with the Bengals, had moved down the depth chart this preseason and ended up being a third-string option in Sunday’s preseason finale against the Dolphins.

The 23-year-old out of Ohio State played 27 games with 19 starts, all at left guard, over two seasons with the Bengals, who on Monday traded fellow former Ohio State guard/center Billy Price to the Giants in exchange for defensive end B.J. Hill. Price, a first-round pick in 2018, played in 42 career games with 19 starts but was set to backup center Trey Hopkins once again as Hopkins is back from an ACL tear in the 2020 finale.

Hill, a fourth-year player out of North Carolina State University, originally was a third-round pick of the Giants in 2018. He has played in all 48 possible games (17 starts) during his career, and has 102 tackles, 7.5 sacks and three passes defensed.

Teams must trim their rosters to 53 players by 4 p.m. today.
