Report: Bengals tight end Eifert to miss several weeks

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert is expected to miss multiple weeks after with a back injury, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Eifert underwent offseason back surgery, which he admitted will limit some things he can do for the rest of his career. He played in the first two games, catching four passes for 46 yards, but re-aggravated the back in the first half of the Houston game Sept. 14.

He hasn't practiced since and did not play in Sunday's 27-24 overtime loss at Green Bay.

After playing a career-high 15 games as a rookie, Eifert has missed 27 of the team’s last 50 games.

A first-round pick in 2013, Eifert is in the final year of his contract.
