Tommy Tuberville couldn’t hack it as the head coach at the University of Cincinnati, but how about governor of Alabama for a consolation prize.

Sound crazy?

It probably is, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

CBS Sports reported this week, "It is known he is currently in the process of gauging interest for his entry into the 2018 race."

That’s right, the former Auburn coach could try his hand at politics despite never having held public office before.

He may have been out of place in the Queen City, but he is a known commodity in Alabama after coaching the Tigers for 10 seasons.

The Arkansas native also gives off a certain southern politician vibe with his smooth drawl and folksy demeanor.

He might be a longshot, but stranger things have happened in politics.
