Report: Reds ‘engaged’ in trade talks with Indians for All-Star shortstop

The Cincinnati Reds have ‘engaged’ the Cleveland Indians in a potential trade for All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor, according to Mark Fiensand of MLB.com.

Lindor, 26, was the runner-up for American League Rookie of the Year for the Indians in 2015. He’s been an All-Star the last four seasons. Last season he hit .284 with 32 home runs with 74 RBIs. Lindor also is a two-time Gold Glove honoree.

The Reds have added free agents Mike Moustakas (second base) and Wade Miley (starting pitcher) since the season ended.
