The Cincinnati Reds reached a $5.9-million deal with first-round pick Jonathan India, according to a report by Jon Heyman on Sunday.

Mark Sheldon, of MLB.com, reported the contract is pending a physical.

The Reds drafted India, a third baseman, with the No. 5 pick in the first round in June. He hit .350 with 21 home runs in 68 games with the Florida Gators as a junior.

India, originally from Coral Springs, Fla., and American Heritage High School, was named the 2018 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.
