H.S. Results for 1/31: Lakota West, Alter, Tri-Village highlight poll

Lakota West, Alter and Tri-Village all received No. 2 rankings in the Associated Press girls basketball state poll on Tuesday.

Division II featured several area teams. Alter was second with two first place votes, Carroll third, Trotwood-Madison sixth and Tippecanoe seventh.

Tecumseh joined Lakota West in the D-I poll, coming in at eighth.

Fort Recovery (6), Versailles (8) and Waynesville (10) got spots in the D-III poll.

No. 2 Tri-Village held five first place votes in the D-IV poll. Minster came in third and Jackson Center and Russia each received votes.

Girls Basketball

Dunbar 51, Twin Valley South 33: Myalisa Beal scored 13 points and Aria Cole 11 as Dunbar rode a hot start to victory. Kelsie Shafer led TVS with 12 points.

Tri-Village 57, Newton 47: Danika Mann led unbeaten Tri-Village with 18 points. Elizabeth Carroll had 17 points for Newton.

Covington 56, Bethel 35: Samantha Whiteman had 21 points and Jordan Crowell 11 for Covington.

National Trail 44, Dayton Christian 28: Makena Laird scored 19 points and Savanna Abner 10 as Trail opened the game on a 23-5 run. Camryn Collinsworth led Dayton Christian with 16 points.

West Liberty-Salem 82, Ben Logan 45: Lily Yoder poured in 27 points, Kelsey Day added 13 and Mikalia McIntosh 12 for WLS. Nikki Current had 20 points for Ben Logan.

Fort Recovery 45, Franklin Monroe 33: Jocelyn Kaiser tallied 15 points and Whitney Will 13 for Fort Recovery. Kinsey Goins and Audrey Cable had 10 points apiece for Franklin Monroe.

New Bremen 69, Jefferson 54: Kelly Naylor scored 19 points and Macy Puthoff 17 to lead New Bremen.

Boys Basketball

Trotwood-Madison 84, Fairborn 56: Trotwood recovered from a slow start and put together a 34-point fourth quarter to run away with the win. Shaunn Monroe had 21 points for Fairborn.

Tippecanoe 55, Sidney 44: Caiden Smith tallied 22 points and Adam Grieshop added 10 as Tippecanoe shot 12 of 12 from the foul line in the second half in the upset win. Isaiah Bowser led Sidney with 15 points.

Greenville 86, Troy 78: Isaiah Gable became the fifth player for Greenville to surpass the 1,000 career point milestone.

Lebanon 63, West Carrollton 40: Parker Smith scored 15 points and Zach Huffman added 14 help Lebanon snap a four-game losing skid.

Xenia 73, Bellbrook 47: Samari Curtis carried Xenia with 25 points and Ricky Williams added 13. Skyler Golden had 12 points for Bellbrook while Sean Ulrich and Hayden Greene each added 11.

Vandalia 55, Piqua 35: Michael Kreill had 13 points and Miles Joiner chipped in 12 points with 10 rebounds for Vandalia.

Hamilton 66, Colerain 52: Jaylen Robinson tallied 15 points and Myles Howard had 13 points with 13 rebounds in leading Hamilton to a third straight win.

Alter 97, Miami East 55: Alter poured in a school record 18 three-point baskets in the win. Jimmy Finke had 21 points and Dominic Laravie 20 to lead five players in double-digit scoring for Alter. Austin Rutledge led East with 20 points and Logan West added 17.

Graham 55, Tecumseh 48: Andrew Ford put up 24 points and Tristen Henry followed with 15 for Graham. Ross Warren had 14 points with 13 rebounds in a losing effort for Tecumseh.

Brookville 60, Eaton 42: Brookville had swings of 13 points in the first and third quarters to take control. Cody Cox led the way with 15 points. Trevor Pittman paced Eaton with 17 points.

Madison 58, Dixie 55: Kevin Dursitsch scored 12 points, Grant Whisman 11 and Tristan Sipple buried a three-point shot with 1.6 seconds to give Madison the edge. Andrew Zammit led Dixie with 17 points.

Preble Shawnee 58, Waynesville 55: Joey Bates recorded 18 points and Chase Thompson added 11 to help Preble Shawnee hold off a Waynesville rally. Noah Price put up 22 points and Micah Schenking added 12 for Waynesville.

Carlisle 65, Milton-Union 51: Justin Flor tallied 18 points and Logan Baker 16 to lead four players in double-digit scoring for Carlisle. Blake Smith had 12 points for Milton-Union.

Southeastern 56, Greeneview 32: Trevor King had 15 points and Colton Spears and Andrew Lyons each chipped in 11 apiece for Southeastern.

Triad 63, Riverside 50: Hadley LeVan and Thomas O’Neal scored 21 points apiece to lead Triad.

Dayton Christian 64, Xenia Legacy Christian 56: Matt Welker had 19 points, Dominic Wilcox 15 and J.T. Thornhill 11 to help Dayton Christian rally from a 13-point deficit.

Emmanuel Christian 71, Yellow Springs 65, OT: Fred Shropshire recorded 23 points and Casey Swank and Adonis Davis added 12 apiece to lead Emmanuel.

Boys Bowling

Northmont 2603, Lebanon 2381: Cam Ryle carried Northmont with a 482 series and Tyler Blackwell added a 456. Ryan Losekamp led Lebanon with a 461 series.

Carroll 2532, McNicholas 2336: Quinn Goodpaster paced Carroll with a 494 series.

Mechanicsburg 2341, Madison Plains 1731: Caleb Westfall turned in a 439 series to help ‘Burg remain unbeaten in conference play.

Lebanon 1930, Northmont 1858: Mia Kordowski bowled a 419 series to lead Lebanon. Rachel Banks had a 360 series for Northmont.
