HS Results 12/27: Hamilton holds off ‘Creek rally

Hamilton got off to a hot start then held off Beavercreek for a 56-52 win in boys basketball on Wednesday.

D’Marco Howard led the way with 21 points and Jaylen Robinson tacked on 14 for Hamilton, which built up a 20-point lead in the first half.

Brandon Zink scored 12 points off the bench to lead ‘Creek, with Jon Alessandro adding 11.

Boys Basketball

Princeton 64, Middletown 50: Jawunn Bailey and Chris Stallworth put up 16 points apiece for Middletown in a losing effort.

Ross 56, Harrison 41: Landon Angel recorded 20 points and seven rebounds to lead Ross.

Minster 57, Russia 42: Isaac Schmiesing scored 14 points and Mike Ketner and Jarod Schulze 13 apiece as Minster pulled away in the second half.

Girls Basketball

Springfield 90, Ponitz 37: Mickayla Perdue poured in 30 points and Caralyssa Byrd 23 for Springfield. Myeesha Hall had 13 for Ponitz.

Lebanon 61, Oak Hills 41: Eva White scored 14 points, Ashley Popp 12 and Molly Lane and Kendall Folley 10 apiece to help Lebanon move to 7-1.

Valley View 70, Carlisle 29: Hunter Stidham had 22 points, Abigail Dickson 14 and Lauren Legate 12 to lead Valley View.

Waynesville 79, Miami Valley 25: Rachel Murray recorded 20 points, Aubrey Rains 14, Marcella Sizer 12 and Lynzie Hartshorn 11 for Waynesville.

Ross 48, Harrison 42: Julia Nunn led Ross with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Spg. Shawnee 51, Covington 36: Olivia Potts put up 13 points and Lizzie Weaver 12 for Shawnee. Jordan Crowell carried Covington with 12.

Coldwater 60, Marion Local 51: Maura Hoying carried Coldwater with 18 points and eight rebounds in the opening round of the Ovisco Classic.
