HS Roundup 1/24: Area wrestling teams advance in team tourney

Graham, Butler, Beavercreek, Springboro and Fairfield were among the Division I programs to move on in the OHSAA Team Tournament on Wednesday.

Graham shut out Sidney 84-0, Butler knocked off Northmont 52-21, Springboro downed Fairmont 54-19, Fairfield defeated Winton Woods 54-18 and Beavercreek edged Centerville 44-28 in the finals matches.

Urbana, Northwestern, Valley View, Ross and Chaminade Julienne advanced in Division II. Covington, Versailles, Miami East, Indian Lake and Brookville advanced in Division III.

Girls Basketball

Centerville 56, Northmont 28: Sam Chable led a balanced attack from Centerville with 15 points. Jenna Hoschouer had 11 for Northmont.

Lebanon 45, Wayne 33: Lebanon had runs of 11-5 and 14-6 to pull ahead. Kendall Folley led the way with 16 points.

Tippecanoe 61, West Carrollton 15: Maddie Frederick finished with 14 points, Allison Mader 12 and Kendall Clodfelter 10 for Tipp.

Fairmont 57, Miamisburg 37: Abby Carter carried Miamisburg with 16 points.

Stebbins 54, Piqua 41: Lily Stewart paced Piqua in a losing effort with 21 points and Kelsey Magoteaux had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Lakota West 74, Sycamore 19: Abby Prohaska led four players in double-digit scoring for West with 22 points. Sarah Jones added 12.

Lakota East 43, Oak Hills 34: East opened the game on a 14-4 run. Ally David led the way with 11 and Jordan Stanley added 10.

Fairfield 62, Hamilton 45: Zahrya Bailey finished with 25 points and eight steals to lead Fairfield. CiCi Riggins had 26 points for Hamilton.

Tecumseh 85, Jonathan Alder 41: Corinne Thomas and Presley Griffitts combined for 50 points to lead Tecumseh.

Bellefontaine 54, Graham 41: Katelyn Nash poured in 26 points in a losing effort for Graham.

Alter 43, Dunbar 31: Riley Priest paced Alter with 10 points. Monet Allen led Dunbar with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Stivers 52, Cin. College Prep 36: Emily Fletcher had a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 12 blocks and Mariah Dixon led Stivers in scoring with 14 points.

Jefferson 55, Belmont 35: Jordan Harris and Cherelle Jordan each had double-doubles, and Harris and Tianna Hayes scored 15 apiece to lead Jefferson.

West Liberty-Salem 65, Madison Plains 9: Mya King scored 14, Kelsey Day 11 and Alex Burton and Selena Weaver 10 apiece for WLS.

Bethel 56, Triad 51: Mckenna Gray led Bethel with 18 points and Alaina Hawthorn added 14. Alea Ferguson, Tori Thomas and Cati LeVan scored 12 apiece for Triad.

Boys Bowling

Mechanicsburg 3043, Southeastern 1968: Caleb Westfall bowled a 504 series for Mechanicsburg. Tyler Blankenship led Southeastern with a 388.

Girls Bowling

Mechanicsburg 2130, Southeastern 1822: Skyler Herron had a 358 series for Mechanicsburg.
