HS Roundup 5/9: Ben Logan softball advances in sectional tournament

Ben Logan blanked Greenon 5-0 in the second round of the Division III sectional tournament on Wednesday.

LeAnn Regula doubled and drove in three runs and Kylie Frazier and Olivia Roose tacked on doubles.

Grace Dearduff turned in another dominant performance in the circle, striking out 17 to earn the win.

Ben Logan improved to 22-2 and will face Versailles in a sectional final on Monday.

Baseball

Ben Logan 12, Bellefontaine 4: Blake Peterson picked up the win on the mound and Garrett Dixon recorded the save. Cole Jones and Trey Allen each had multiple hits for Ben Logan.

Fairborn 9, Springfield Shawnee 8: Fairborn held off a Shawnee rally to get the win. Garison Secrest led the way, picking up four hits including two doubles, and Andrew Trickett recorded the win on the mound.

Fairfield 8, Edgewood 1: Logan Murphy and Kayden Campbell each drove in a pair of runs off of two hits and Evan Verquer struck out eight to pick up the win for Fairfield.

Kenton Ridge 11, West Liberty-Salem 1: Garrett Kelly blasted a home run, Calvin Dibert went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Alex Ward 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead Kenton Ridge. Ethan Larson scored the lone run for WLS.

Lebanon 3, Little Miami 0: Bo Wilson threw a one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and Noah Frankenburg went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Lebanon.

Springboro 6, Beavercreek 0: Jake D’Amico tripled and drove in two runs out of the leadoff spot, Evan Saunier finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and Brayden Stull and Buddy Rogers combined on the shutout for ‘Boro.

St. Henry 12, Fort Recovery 2: Sam Lefeld finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI and Rylee Deitsch was 2-for-3 with two RBI to spur St. Henry. Ryne Post tallied two hits with two RBI for Fort Recovery.

Tecumseh 11, Tri-County North 7: Tecumseh rallied from a five-run deficit, putting the game away with a five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Blais Hale had a three-run homer for Tecumseh. Chayse Eby doubled and drove in three runs to lead TCN.

Sectional Tournament

West Liberty-Salem 14, Meadowdale 0: Maddie Estes smacked a pair of triples with three RBI and two runs scored, Kelsey Day doubled in a run and Hannah Riblet went 2-for-2 with two runs scored to lead WLS.

Regular Season

National Trail 5, Franklin Monroe 1: Makena Laird smacked a grand slam in the fifth inning to power National Trail. Skyler Ward and Davlyn Werner each added a pair of hits.

Girls Lacrosse

Miamisburg 13, Hilliard Davidson 12: Emma Wyss knocked in seven goals and Molly Brown and Alaina Wells tacked on two apiece for ‘Burg, which rallied from a 7-0 deficit.
