HS Roundup 4/24: Ben Logan softball bests Indian Lake

Benjamin Logan softball ousted Indian Lake, 10-5, in CBC play.

Grace Deardruff picked up the win on the mound, also tallying two runs and two hits.

Jaz McKeen paved the way for the offense, collecting four hits, two RBIs, one double and one run.

Kinzie Jones tacked on three hits and two runs, running for a triple in the win.

Kiersten Maxwell rounded out the scoring for Ben Logan with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Benjamin Logan moves to 9-4 on the season with the win and will face Urbana tomorrow night.

Baseball

Benjamin Logan 9, Indian Lake 8: A wild pitch led to Ben Logan’s go-ahead run, sparking a five-run lead that the Raiders would hold onto as Indian Lake’s comeback fell just short. Blake Peterson earned the win for Ben Logan, while Trace Tevis, Curtis Gadson and Micah Anderson each scored two runs.

Coldwater 7, New Bremen 4: Brad Giere earned the win for Coldwater on the mound, striking out four batters. Jack Muhlenkamp paved the way offensively with multiple hits and three stolen bases.

St. Henry 11, Delphos St. John 3: Marc Siefring won the game for St. Henry, allowing two runs on two hits, while striking out nine. Parker Link, Curtis Uhlenhake, Tyler Schlarman and Ryan Bruening all ran for doubles in the win.

Softball

Coldwater 6, New Bremen 0: Madde Stienke threw a complete game shutout for Coldwater, allowing only four hits as she struck out six batters. Molly Stienke collected two hits to lead offensively.

Boys Tennis

Miami Valley 4, Legacy Christian 0: Colton Morehart, Niyanth Reddy and Nathan Howell all picked up wins to sweep the singles competition for Miami Valley. The second doubles match was not finished on account of weather.

Preble Shawnee 5, Northridge 0: Pierce Elliot, Luke Feck and Allison Zornes all swept the singles competition 6-0, 6-0 in the Preble Shawnee victory.

Valley View 5, Brookville 0: The doubles duos of Ben Lewan and Chase Midkiff and Michael Fischer and Carter Notle both picked up wins at first and second doubles respectively in the sweep.

Boys Volleyball

Alter 3, McNicholas 0: Josh Kabel led the way in the Alter victory, netting 24 assists and three aces. Andrew Rose tacked on 16 digs, 10 kills and six aces, while Michael Stuart rounded out the effort with nine kills and three blocks. Alter took the sets 30-28, 25-10 and 25-12.

Carroll 3, Roger Bacon 0: Carroll took all three sets, winning 25-9, 25-15 and 25-21. Spencer Bethel tacked 28 assists onto his season total while John Brun had 13 kills and 12 digs. Max Hermann rounded out Carroll with five kills and two blocks.

Northmont 3, Beavercreek 2: ‘Creek took two sets, 25-21 and 25-18 in the loss. Naumann Hussain led with 26 assists for ‘Creek, while Alex Le tacked on 14 digs.
