HS Roundup 4/23: ‘Boro baseball bashes Northmont

Springboro pulled away quickly in a 12-2 win versus Northmont in baseball on Tuesday.

Matthew Dapore tallied three hits with three RBI and two runs scored to lead the way. Logan Zier added two RBI and Tyler Kean had three hits and two runs scored.

Brenden Siehl hit a home run for Northmont.

Baseball

Arcanum 13, Ansonia 0: Carver Gostomsky knocked out a two-run homer, Wade Meeks went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Evan Atchley recorded the win on the mound for Arcanum.

Ben Logan 4, London 0: Kade Arn struck out ten in a two-hit shutout and Christian Hardman, Garrett Dixon and Derek Levan each had multiple hits to lead Ben Logan.

Cedarville 4, Greeneview 3: Mitchell Hines struck out seven in a losing effort for Greeneview.

Centerville 4, Springfield 1: Shea Hendrixson drove in two runs, Connor Walch tallied the win on the mound and Alex Beyerle picked up the save for Centerville.

Coldwater 26, New Knoxville 0: Austin Riethman paced Coldwater, finishing 4-for-4 with a double. Coldwater improved to 6-0 in conference play.

Lebanon 12, Miamisburg 5: Max Bittman tallied three hits and Bo Wilson recorded the win for Lebanon, which got started quickly with five runs in the first inning. Ethan Schultz tallied two hits for ‘Burg.

Mississinawa Valley 6, Troy Christian 2: Kyler Guillozet tallied two hits with two RBI and three stolen bases to lead Mississinawa. Ethan Dirksen added two hits with one RBI.

New Bremen 12, Delphos SJ’s 2: Zach Bertke recorded three hits, including a double, and drove in four to lead New Bremen. Bryce Blickle added two hits with three RBI. Chandler Skym plated both runs for DSJ.

North Union 3, Tecumseh 2: Blais Hale knocked in both runs for Tecumseh, including a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning, but North Union answered in the bottom of the frame to get a walk-off win.

St. Henry 4, Parkway 1: Sam Lefeld singled in Rylee Deitsch to put St. Henry on the board in the first inning and Ethan Thieman brought in Lefeld with a triple. Deitsch added a two-run single in the fourth inning.

Tri-County North 9, Covington 3: TCN pulled ahead with seven runs in the third inning. Casey Whipp and Wyatt Hutchins each had three RBIand Dylan Curtin brought in two runs to lead the way.

Tri-Village 5, Bradford 3: TV pulled ahead with three runs in the fifth inning, all of which came with two outs. Derek Eyer finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a triple and Gage Hileman had two RBI, including a suicide squeeze.

Softball

Ben Logan 9, London 4: Olivia Roose blasted a two-run homer and a triple, finishing with three hits and four RBI to lead Ben Logan. Jenn Naragon added a double and a triple and Grace Deardurff recorded the win.

Coldwater 10, Lima Central Catholic 7: Audrey Ziegler blasted a grand slam home run and Molly Stienke finished 3-for-4 with a run-scoring double for Coldwater.

Fenwick 14, Madeira 3: Claudia Miller had four hits and scored three runs, Abby Gustely doubled twice and drove in five runs and Rachel Berling recorded the win for Fenwick.

Mechanicsburg 30, Northeastern 2: Morgan Heizer, Hanna DeLong and Kasey Schipfer each smacked a home run for ‘Burg.

National Trail 13, Miami East 4: Makena Laird knocked out a home run and Bobbi Grimes finished with four hits, four RBI and two runs scored to lead National Trail.

Springboro 10, Northmont 4: ‘Boro took the lead for good with a four-run fourth inning. Elizabeth Stolle had a two-run double in the frame. Carmynn Bonner hit a home run for Northmont.

West Jefferson 1, West Liberty-Salem 0: McKenna Archey and Kora Huber each had a double for West Jefferson, which scored the lone run in the top of the sixth. Aubrey Williams hit a double to lead WLS.

Boys Tennis

Beavercreek 5, Wayne 0: Austin Staiger, Heidi Orloff and Alan Xie all won by scores of 6-0, 6-0 to lead Beavercreek.

Dixie 3, Carlisle 2: Steven Brock and Alex Perminov picked up singles wins for Dixie.

Fenwick 4, Badin 1: Tim Erhart and Connor Powers led Fenwick with singles wins. Robert Paxton won in second singles for Badin.

Middletown 3, Hamilton 2: Deniz Misirlioglu won in first singles and Middletown swept the doubles matches. Andrew Rhoden and Brendan Thomas each had a singles win for Hamilton.

Tecumseh 4, Jonathan Alder 1: Jacob Lewis and Parker Randenburg tallied singles victories and Tecumseh swept the doubles matches.

Boys Volleyball

Chillicothe 3, Edgewood 0: Griffin Smith had 11 kills and Eyan Berlepsch added one ace with seven assists for Edgewood.

Track & Field

Clark County Meet: Jaci Rife won the 100M dash, Kylee Mastin had wins in the 1600 and 800M run and Mae Mastin won the 300M hurdles to lead the Tecumseh girls track team to first place.
