HS Roundup 12/28: Curtis sets scoring record for Xenia

University of Cincinnati recruit Samari Curtis became Xenia boys basketball’s all-time leading scorer on Friday in a 74-65 loss to Miamisburg.

Curtis passed Robert Siwo’s record after dropping in his 23rd of 25 points on the night, putting him at 1,540 for his career.

Corey Hartman matched Curtis with a career-high 25 points for Miamisburg. Duncan Hall tacked on 19 points and Brett Hensley had 15.

Boys Basketball

Ben Logan 69, Triad 49: Nolan Robson netted 19 points for Ben Logan and Cole Jones added 17. Batai Lease totaled 13 points for Triad.

Bethel 59, Lehman Catholic 53: Kendall Jones put up 21 points and Micah Mutlu tacked on 11 for Bethel in the consolation game of the WPTW Holiday Classic. Elliot Gilardi led Lehman Catholic with 15 points.

Brookville 58, Mississinawa Valley 31: Jacob Gudorf turned in 21 points and Wes Turner tacked on 12 for Brookville in the Jet Holiday Tournament. D.J. Howell had 10 points for Mississinawa.

Cin. Christian 72, Miami Valley 30: Logan Woods led the way for CC with 15 points at the Cincinnati Christian Holiday Tournament. Jake Wang had 15 points for Miami Valley.

Fairborn 66, Oakwood 56: Shaunn Monroe poured in 32 points for Fairborn, reaching 1,000 points for his career. Darren Rubin paced Oakwood with 25 points.

Franklin Monroe 60, Arcanum 54: Ethan Conley finished with 18 points to lead Franklin Monroe in the Jet Holiday Tournament.

Hamilton 48, Lebanon 47: Jaylen and Trey Robinson combined for 32 points to help lead Hamilton to a rally victory. Zach Huffman had 12 points for Lebanon.

Lakota West 51, Elder 48: Charlie Massa drained a three-point shot at the buzzer to lead Lakota West to the victory.

Mechanicsburg 57, Southeastern 51: Joey Mascadri tallied 18 points and Chris Taylor tacked on 12 for ‘Burg. Charlie Bertemes scored 18 points for Southeastern.

Milton-Union 53, Newton 38: Aaron Stone scored 12 points to help Milton-Union pull away in the second half. Chet Jamison and Kleyson Wehrley netted 11 points apiece for Newton.

Minster 68, Russia 46: Cody Frericks finished with 17 points, Noah Enneking 16 and Mike Ketner 15 to lead Minster. Adam Dapore recorded 15 points for Russia.

National Trail 68, Dixie 44: Cameron Harrison turned in 28 points to pace National Trail. Jordan Butt put up 10 points for Dixie.

New Bremen 68, Riverside 61: Mitchell Hays had 16 points and Bryce Blickle 15 to lead five players in double-digit scoring for New Bremen.

Piqua 63, Troy Christian 55: Qurri Tucker paced Piqua with 25 points and Micah Karn added 13 in the championship game of the WPTW Holiday Classic. Connor Peters tallied 13 points for Troy Christian.

Ponitz 73, Northridge 57: Stanley Shrivers paced Ponitz with 26 points.

Stivers 63, Clinton-Massie 60: Ivynn Spears and Trevon Ellis spurred Stivers at the Cincinnati Christian Holiday Tournament. Spears led the way with 17 points and Ellis turned in a triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

St. Henry 60, Coldwater 58: Ethan Thieman scored 18 points and Ben Evers 11 to help St. Henry win in rally fashion. Cole Frilling had 19 points for Coldwater.

St. Marys 58, New Knoxville 34: Jared Osborne netted 17 points for New Knoxville in a losing effort.

Tri-Village 57, Jefferson 44: Gage Hileman tallied 19 points to lead Tri-Village.

Versailles 61, Miami East 45: Evan Hiestand had 17 points for Versailles. Sam Zapadka scored 18 points for Miami East.

West Clermont 57, Fairfield 47: Zavian Ricks recorded 16 points in a losing effort for Fairfield.

West Jefferson 71, Greenon 53: Ben Casey chipped in 22 points and Joe Thompson tacked on 19 for West Jefferson. Nick Traylor and Cade Rice recorded 11 points apiece for Greenon.

West Liberty-Salem 57, Catholic Central 50: Nick Burden netted 16 points and Matthew Loffing 13 to lead WLS in the road win. Mykah Eichie paced Catholic Central with 15 points.

Girls Basketball

Badin 61, Austintown Fitch 60: Shelby Nusbaum scored 20 points, including going 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final minute, to pace Badin.

Chaminade Julienne 51, Dunbar 27: Staci Greene carried Chaminade Julienne with 15 points.

Covington 69, Graham 26: Samantha Whiteman chipped in 27 points and Morgan Kimmel added 17 to lead Covington at the Buccaneer Holiday Classic.

Fairfield 51, Bellbrook 35: Tori Williams finished with 15 points and Zahrya Bailey added 12 for Fairfield at the Kemba Classic.

Greeneview 55, London 53: Sylvie Sonneman scored 18 points to lead Greeneview and was named MVP of the McDonald’s Holiday Basketball Tournament. Kenzie Harding added 15 points.

Lakota West 72, Tol. Central Catholic 38: Kailyn Dudukovich led Lakota West with 13 points, Chance Gray 12 and Jaydis Gales 10.

Kenton Ridge 36, Summit Country Day 30: Mikala Morris recorded 19 points to lead Kenton Ridge.

Milton-Union 50, Newton 42: Kristen Dickison poured in 26 points with five rebounds, five assists and six steals for Milton-Union. Brooke Deeter netted 17 points for Newton.

Trotwood 59, Pickerington North 53: Quantaijah Huffman had 19 points to lead the way for Trotwood.

GMVWA Holiday Tournament: Graham won the Division II-III tournament, finishing with 13 placers and 306 points.
