HS Roundup 1/18: Fairborn rallies past Sidney

Shaunn Monroe had a driving layup in the closing seconds to give Fairborn a 63-61 rally victory versus visiting Sidney in a Friday night boys basketball thriller.

The layup capped off an 18-6 run in the final quarter by Fairborn.

Monroe finished with 17 points and Joe Nickel and Jarod Bodekor added 14 apiece.

Virginia Tech commit Andre Gordon scored 18 points for Sidney.

Arcanum 63, Newton 46: Carter Gray paced Arcanum with 29 points. Chet Jamison had 17 points for Newton.

Carroll 50, Roger Bacon 46, OT: Simon Jefferson scored 14 points, Austin Schafer 13 and Matt Cogan 10 to pace Carroll in the overtime win.

Centerville 56, Lebanon 47: Ryan Marchal finished with 14 points and Matt Pearce tacked on 10 to lead Centerville in the road win.

Chaminade Julienne 62, McNicholas 45: Milton Gage scored 17 points, Jack Nauseef added 14 and CJ clinched at least a share of the Greater Catholic League Co-Ed North title with the win.

Cin. Christian 68, Norwood 51: Logan Woods carried Cin. Christian with 25 points.

Coldwater 71, Delphos SJ’s 49: Marcus Bruns recorded 29 points and Cole Frilling added 18 for Coldwater.

Covington 49, Miami East 47: Kleyton Maschino chipped in 18 points for Covington. Sam Zapadka had 20 points in a losing effort for Miami East.

Fairbanks 47, Greeneview 40: Gabe Caudill chipped in 12 points in a losing effort for Greeneview.

Fort Loramie 54, Russia 48: Nathan Raterman led the Fort Loramie effort with 10 points.

Fort Recovery 75, New Knoxville 51: Patrick Covert put up 19 points and Sam Anspach added 15 in a losing effort for Fort Recovery.

Legacy Christian 58, Dayton Christian 45: Legacy took control with a 16-0 run midgame. Devin Dreier had 17 points in a losing effort.

Madison 58, Carlisle 39: Madison won an 11th straight game, moving to 13-1 overall and 8-0 in league play.

Miamisburg 48, Beavercreek 37: Corey Hartman had 15 points and Miamisburg shot 20-of-23 from the foul line to earn the victory. Chris Herbort had 14 points for ‘Creek.

Minster 45, Marion Local 42: Mike Ketner put up 22 points to lead Minster. Nathan Bruns had 12 points for Marion Local.

Mississinawa Valley 62, Bradford 21: Blake Scholl scored 20 points and D.J. Howell had 18 for Mississinawa.

National Trail 70, Bethel 29: Travis Hunt had 19 points, including five three-pointers, and Zach Woodall and Hunter Michael added double-double performances for National Trail.

New Bremen 51, Parkway 48: Bryce Blickle drained a three-pointer as time expired to put New Bremen on top.

Oakwood 70, Eaton 57: Darren Rubin poured in 31 points to lead the way for Oakwood. Travis Pittman paced Eaton with 18 points.

Purcell Marian 70, Alter 59: Brady Uhl led Alter with 21 points and Conor Stolly added 14 in a losing effort.

St. Henry 62, Versailles 59: Caden Niekamp tallied 22 points and Jay Knapke tacked on 14 for St. Henry.

Tippecanoe 67, Stebbins 60: Ben Knostman and Nolan Mader combined for 50 points to pace Tippecanoe. Damiene Boles Jr. scored 19 for Stebbins.

Trotwood-Madison 112, Troy 58: Malachi Mathews scored 28 points, Amari Davis 24 and Sammy Anderson 16 to help Trotwood move to 10-1 and 7-0 in conference play. Chris Demeo tallied 18 points for Troy.

Twin Valley South 73, Tri-Village 35: Jayden Bassler totaled 22 points to lead TVS.

Beavercreek 55, Northmont 12: Jacob Pfander and Garrett Golden won by pin for Beavercreek.

Hockey

Centerville 8, Elder 1: John Chamberlain and Riley Hrin each had a hat trick to lead Centerville in the opening round of the Martin Luther King tournament.
