HS Roundup 5/24: Fort Loramie knocks off Minster in regional semis

Fort Loramie edged out Minster, 7-5, in the Division IV regional semifinals matchup.

Fort Loramie got off to a quick start, putting up five runs courtesy of RBIs by Devin Wehrman, Carter Mescher, Dillon Albers and C.J. Billing in the top of the second.

A four-run inning for Minster brought the game within one, tying it in the bottom of the fifth.

Shane Higlefort hit for an RBI double and Dillon Albers an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to score two runs, giving Loramie a 7-5 lead.

With the win, Fort Loramie advances to play Cincinnati Christian tomorrow, May 25 at 5 p.m., in the regional finals.


Regional Semifinals

Division II

Alter 3, Chillicothe 0: Alter blew through Chillicothe – 25-8, 25-3 and 25-12 – to advance to the regional finals on Saturday. Josh Kabel paved the way with 18 assists, seven aces and five digs. Andrew Rose tacked on 11 kills, 11 digs and three aces.

Fenwick 3, Carroll 1: Carroll fell to Fenwick in four sets, picking up its lone win 25-15. Spencer Bethel amassed 35 assists and 15 digs in the losing effort, while John Brun tacked on 20 kills and 10 digs.
